Hey everyone,

The time has come to say good bye, our Kickstarter adventure is over and this will be the last ever update on this campaign.

Thank you all so much for making the last 2 years the most incredible experience, Sara and I will remember it forever.

Now a new adventure begins:

The Isle of Cats: Don't forget the Kittens! is now on Kickstarter.

We hope to see you there, but if not, we wish you the best!

Don't forget the kittens!
almost 3 years ago – Wed, May 12, 2021 at 11:48:16 PM

Hey everyone,

I hope you are well and the last year hasn't been too hard for you.

It has been over a year since we travelled to The Isle of Cats and I was meaning to ask, did anyone remember to rescue the kittens..?

No?

I guess we better go back!

I am excited to announce The Isle of Cats: Don't forget the kittens will launch on Kickstarter on May 25th!

Rescue the forgotten kittens

Befriend the ancient beasts

Adapt in a world of crazy events

...and prepare your brand-new boats!

Short on time? There's a new way to play as well!

I have so much more planned for this Kickstarter, and I'm running a pre-launch stretch goal of getting to 6,000 followers on the Kickstarter page in order to add the next item to the campaign.

Spread the word, as these kittens need saving!

Join the Kickstarter today.

I hope to see you there and can't wait for our next adventure together.

- Frank

More details?

For those of you who would like to find the entries on BGG, you can find the current ones here:

You can also find some designer diaries where I dive into the details here:

More will be coming soon and if we can reach our 6,000 goal then I've got a nice surprise I think you will enjoy.

I hope to see you there.

Introducing The Isle of Cats Remote Edition
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Apr 17, 2020 at 12:12:48 AM

Hey everyone,

It has been 2 months since my last update and a lot has happened in the world. I want to begin by saying I hope you are all safe at this time and finding a way to enjoy the moments that you can.

In my last update I closed off this Kickstarter and didn't plan to send any more updates, but with Covid-19 changing the rules of how we can live our lives, I decided I was going to change the rules too, literally.

Introducing The Isle of Cats Remote Edition

The Isle of Cats Remote Edition provides a way of playing the game with friends and family who are not physically located within the same room as you. It can be played via webcam, or photo and offers streamers a way of playing with their viewers.

You can download the new rules and player sheets from my website.

The Remote Edition is completely free to download and play, and as long as you own a copy of The Isle of Cats, you can play with as many people you like, regardless of where they are located, without them needing to own the game.

I hope in this time this gives you all a new way to continue to enjoy The Isle of Cats with your friends and family and brings a little bit of happiness back to your gaming table.

Play along live

To celebrate the release, I will be running a live game of The Isle of Cats Remote Edition tomorrow (Friday) and would like to invite you and your friends and family to join me. Each player will simply need to print the player sheet from our website.

The stream will be on Twitch ( https://www.twitch.tv/cityofgameshq ) at 20:00 BST | 15:00 EST | 12:00 PST and you don't need an account to take part, but if you have one feel free to follow and join in with the chat.

Until next time

I hope you all enjoy this new version of The Isle of Cats and that I might see some of you on Twitch tomorrow. But regardless of that, I hope you all continue to stay safe and focus on the best parts of your day.

- Frank

The End: Thank you for helping to make The Isle of Cats possible.
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 10, 2020 at 11:38:42 PM

Hey everyone,

It is time for the final Kickstarter update and I want to begin by thanking every single one of you for helping make The Isle of Cats possible. It has been such an amazing experience and none of it would have happened without you.

Things you may need to know

Where to buy the game

If you've just come across this project and would like to get The Isle of Cats then please check with your local retailer or our online store.

Has your game arrived?

At this point nearly everyone should have received their games, if you've not received your game then please message me directly on Kickstarter using the messaging system and I will look into it for you.

Replacements

If you need to request a replacement then please fill in the form here.

FAQ

You can find the official FAQ here, I'll continue to keep this updated as questions come up.

Initial Reception

The initial reception of the game has been fantastic, I couldn't be happier with how it has turned out.

What's next?

I'm sure many of you are wondering what's next and to find out I would recommend you sign up for my newsletter here.

Will there be new expansions/content?

Right now the answer is it is too early to tell, I certainly have a lot of ideas but until the game releases in retail in March it's hard to know.

The answer will depend on the reception of the game, to help, if you've played the game then please rate it on BGG here. By rating the game you are helping to raise visibility and this will strongly impact how well the game succeeds in the coming months.

CAT-IN-A-BOX competition

Last week I announced the first cat-in-a-box competition on Facebook with a small, but very special prize. To enter all you need to do is post a photo of your cat (or anything you like!) in The Isle of Cats box on the Facebook post here.

UKGE / Gen Con 2020

For those of you lucky enough to attend, I will be at both UKGE and Gen Con 2020 this year and would love to say hello.

If you enjoy The Isle of Cats and would like to volunteer on our booth, then please send me a message on Kickstarter and I'd love to discuss the options. Currently I'm looking for just a couple of people to join the team and one of those could be you!

Where to find us

With the Kickstarter over I would like to invite you to follow me on other platforms as a way to continue to discuss the game, and to find out about new projects.

Until next time

Well then, this is it, the end!

When I launched The Isle of Cats Kickstarter last year I had no idea what to expect, I was nervous and just hoped enough people would like the game enough to make it over the line. Yet, you came in your thousands, you cheered, you spread the word, and you made this one of the most magical experiences of my life.

Sara and I will always be thankful for everything you have done and hope you all continue to enjoy The Isle of Cats for years to come. We look forward to seeing more cats in boxes, to meeting you at the coming shows, and perhaps seeing you on our next project, whenever that will be.

p.s. Once you have played The Isle of Cats and have an opinion on the game, I would be forever grateful if you could rate it here, it would mean the world to us.

Thank you and have a fantastic 2020.

- Frank

Until next time

I hope you all have a fantastic time playing The Isle of Cats, and remember, once you've played the game and have an opinion, it would mean the world to me if you could head over to BGG and rate it (please be honest!)

In the next 1 - 2 weeks I'll send out another update letting everyone know where we are at, collating all the useful resources and wrapping up the project. Between now and then I'm going to be focussed on making sure everyone has their game and chasing down any lost packages.
